I've made some adjustments to my personal site (the one you're reading right now!).
Changelog
- The About section is updated with additional details, including my work experiences on my resume. I probably have some more fiddling to do here in terms of general style and verbosity, but it's mostly complete with what I've been up to in my professional life.
- The main page now features a link to the latest blog post. I'm still pretty new to Next.js and React in general, but I'm really starting to get the hang of components, so I'm happy to report those two pages re-use the same component for their link display. Huzzah!
- I've gotten pretty good at writing content on this site using MDX, even for small sections such as the snippets at the tops of pages. I originally had a gnarly set of examples slopped out by Cursor (shame, I know), but I returned to first principles, read the f***ing docs, and ended up with a structure I think I can maintain and build on later.
Other
As for me, it's been bitter cold here in New Jersey the past couple of weeks, but we're finally seeing the thermometer creep just above freezing. Now that we've gotten used to temps in the single digits (Fahrenheit), "freezing" seems positively balmy.
The past couple of months have been a whirlwind of holiday activity and becoming accustomed to a new professional role (translation: I found a bit of work after the latest layoff, and I think I'm finally out of the "ramping up" period).
I'm really hoping to find more time to dedicate to current projects, one of which is currently listed at the aforementioned link, another that remains in stealth for now. It's not world-breaking stuff, but mentioning something that's in a private repo just seems rude.
I do also have a GitHub org that's not doing much, and I'm debating whether to migrate some other repos to it to centralize and rebrand them. We'll see where things land this Spring, maybe?
Contact
Some methods of contact are mentioned in my About page, so feel free to reach out and drop me a line. I screen most new contacts and am usually quite busy during work hours or at home with the family, so do bear with me if I don't always respond right away.
Thanks for stopping by!
